ASVAB

  • We are excited to announce that we will be offering the ASVAB exam this year on March 19th.  The ASVAB  assesses aptitude and skills, helping students explore career paths and plan for life after high school.  It can also fulfill Pathway 4 of the state-required graduation pathways (Act 158) for students who did not score proficient on their Keystone exams.

    Why take the ASVAB?

    1. Discover Strengths and Interests: The ASVAB tests skills in various areas, including Math, English, Mechanical Comprehension, and Electronics, helping students learn about their interests and career preferences.
    2. More Than Just a Test: The ASVAB is part of the ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP), which includes assessments, career exploration tools, and resources to guide students in making informed career decisions.
    3. Graduation Requirement: The ASVAB score (31 or higher) can satisfy one of the Act 158 graduation pathways.
    4. Not Just for Military Careers: Although the ASVAB was initially used for military career placement, it is now a valuable tool for exploring civilian and military career fields.
    5. Comprehensive Career Exploration: The ASVAB CEP covers all career options, including college, work-based learning, and the military, broadening students'  planning horizons.
