AP 2021 Changes

  • Due to COVID-19, College Board has provided additional testing dates for AP Exams to accommodate for extra safety measures. There will be two different administrations of AP Exams at Southern Lehigh High School.

    1. In the 1st administration AP exams will be administered per normal paper and pencil format in school.
    2. During the 2nd administration, students will be able to take the exams digitally at home.

Some exams are ONLY offered in a paper and pencil format, and will be administered during the 1st administration with the exception of Spanish Language; which will be administered during the 2nd administration.

Students taking a Friday exam need to provide their own transportation to and from school since this is an asynchronous day. Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of your exam.

ONLY Paper and Pencil AP Exams:

Students taking these exams are automatically selected for paper and pencil exams and do not need to make selections for them.

Why Should I Take an AP Test?

  • Stand Out in College Admissions

Deciding to take an AP course lets colleges and universities know that you have what it takes to succeed in an undergraduate environment. When admissions officers see “AP” on your transcript, they know that what you experienced in a particular class has prepared you well for the challenges of college. Taking AP is a sign that you’re up for the most rigorous classes your high school has to offer.

    Earn College Credits

By taking an AP course and scoring successfully on the related AP Exam, you can save on college expenses: most colleges and universities nationwide offer college credit, advanced placement, or both, for qualifying AP Exam scores. These credits can allow students to save college tuition, study abroad, or secure a second major. AP can transform what once seemed unattainable into something within reach. (AP Website, 2017)
