Meet Mrs. Olinik
I am so happy to be returning to Hopewell and teaching second grade this year! It is going to be a great year full of learning experiences for everyone.
I graduated from Shippensburg University in 2007, with a B.S.Ed in Elementary Education with a minor in reading. I received my teaching certificate in Elementary K-6.
I have been working in Southern Lehigh since 2007, when I was hired as an Instructional Assistant at Hopewell Elementary. During my first year at Hopewell, I spent most of the year as a one-on-one IA, but moved into the position of RtII Aide in May of 2008. I worked as Hopewell's RtII Aide until June of 2014, though during that time I also was a long-term substitute twice: first, in 2010, covering the maternity leave of Kim Oakes (Kindergarten), and again in 2013 covering the maternity leave of Sara Hovis at Lower Milford (IST/Tech Smarts).
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog, Molly, an energetic 5-year-old pit bull/beagle mix, who we adopted in 2013. We love going to baseball and hockey games. We've also gotten into jogging...something I swore I'd never like!
I also enjoy reading, especially science fiction and fantasy, and have similar tastes in movies and TV shows as well. I have been known to sew and crochet, though mostly when the mood strikes. I also love to cook and bake. I play the euphonium (google it!) in the Liberty High School Alumni Band.
Molly, enjoying some time on the couch.
Our costumes last Halloween--we like to have fun :-)
